KNOWLEDGE BASE

Practical answers for day-to-day operations.

Use the Knowledge Base when you have a job to complete or a problem to isolate. These guides point into the same canonical technical documentation used by the Platform, but organise it around real operator tasks.

COMMON TASKS

Start with what you are trying to do.

Documentation explains how individual parts of the platform work. The Knowledge Base groups those references into practical operating paths.

01

Migrate an existing WordPress site

Choose the import path, validate the source package, test through Preview and complete the post-import checks before DNS cutover.

Migration workflow →
02

Test a site before DNS cutover

Use Preview when you need to inspect the managed production installation without moving public DNS or cloning the database.

Preview guide →
03

Recover a site from backup safely

Restore a recovery point into Staging first, verify the application and only then promote the validated copy back to production.

Recovery workflow →
04

Troubleshoot a 500 or broken site

Work from site state and timestamps into Nginx, Apache and PHP logs before changing resource limits or application configuration.

Troubleshooting guide →
05

Fix stale or incorrectly cached content

Identify whether the response came from WordPress, Nginx page cache, Redis, a browser or an external CDN before purging everything.

Cache diagnostics →
06

Deploy a custom theme from Git

Connect a repository, select a repository subdirectory, adopt an existing target safely and deploy a controlled fast-forward revision.

Git deployment guide →
07

Respond to a malware finding

Review evidence, preserve a recovery point, quarantine suspicious files, remediate supported database findings and scan again.

Malware response →
08

Move a site to another hosting node

Use pre-copy, cutover and the rollback window deliberately, then finalise only after the destination has been validated.

Site move workflow →
09

Resolve DNS or SSL cutover problems

Separate DNS reachability, ACME validation, certificate state and WordPress canonical URLs instead of treating them as one failure.

DNS & SSL guide →
10

Repair file permission or ownership problems

Understand the difference between Unix modes and ownership before recursively changing a managed WordPress filesystem.

File management guide →
11

Manage plugins, themes and WordPress users

Use managed WordPress actions, Preview-aware WP Admin access and safer staging practices for application changes.

WordPress management →
12

Choose the right backup or restore method

Understand scheduled backups, node-to-node transfer and the difference between full, files-only, database-only and selected-file restores.

Backup reference →

HOW TO USE IT

Start with the symptom. Follow the evidence.

A useful operational guide should narrow the problem rather than ask you to change several unrelated settings at once.

01Identify the layerWordPress, PHP, web server, cache, DNS, SSL or infrastructure.
02Use the narrowest toolPrefer the diagnostic, restore or repair action that addresses the evidence you have.
03Keep a recovery pathUse backups, snapshots, quarantine and rollback windows before destructive changes.

CAN'T FIND IT?

When the problem crosses layers, involve an engineer.

If the issue spans WordPress, PHP, the web tier, networking or infrastructure, support should not stop at an arbitrary product boundary.
